About

I am a composer and percussionist currently studying music and math at Swarthmore College. My recent music has dealt primarily with ideas relating to the economy of musical material and (de)constructing formal structures, as well as simple raw emotional impact. My pieces are frequently inspired by literature, history, and other works of art; how we interact with modern art in the modern world is fascinating to me.

On the math side of things, I’m most interested in modeling and emergent behavior, particularly as it appears in nature. So far, math and music have remained relatively separate interests; one day, I’ll make a piece about the Ising model or something, but that day is a long ways off.
